So you've found 'the
dress', 'the shoes' and 'the venue' but don't forget to
invite your guests!
The invitations are the first thing your guests
will see of your wedding so you need to be planning in
advance to ensure they give your guests the right impression!
Below is a guideline of timescales but once you've
placed an order you don't need to worry about trying
to remember these as we will be requesting information
from you as and when we need it!
Please note these are only guidelines and we will be as flexible as we can to
accommodate your requirements, should this be earlier or later than suggested.
If you wish you
can send out a 'save the date' card to all of your guests.
This will just advise your guests of your planned wedding
date so they can plan holidays etc around it.
If you have decided you would like our stationery it
is a good idea to order a Sample Card and
complete an Order Form to ensure your wedding is scheduled
into our workload (particularly if your wedding is over
the summer months).
You should be planning
to send out your invitations 3-4 months in advance of
your wedding day (consider whether you have guests overseas)
to give them chance to RSVP 6-8 weeks prior to the day.
Consider whether your are including RSVP cards and venue
directions with the invitations.
We require a minimum
of 6 weeks from a signed agreed sample proof and payment
to handmake your stationery.
If you are including
venue directions you will need to draft these for us
to produce. Also if you would like us to include your
guest names on your invitations and address your invitation
envelopes for you we will require our Guest
List completing.
Again, to ensure
we schedule any additional stationery requirements you
have, ie., menus, orders of service, place cards etc,
we recommend you order these at the same time as your
invitations. You can confirm exact numbers when the RSVPs
are received.
If you are getting
married in a Church speak to the Vicar about the Order
of Service as you will need to forward a draft of this
to us.
Check your list
of RSVPs and ring guests that have not responded.
Put together a list
of Guest Names (you can use our Guest
List ) ready for your place cards and table plan.
Obtain a layout
from your venue of how the room and tables will be set
out. You can then start the task of planning where to
seat your guests. We will need this layout to produce
the Table Plan. Also obtain details of the wedding breakfast
menu as we will be requesting this to produce your menus.
Before finally putting
your table plan together we will check with you to ensure
your guests have not changed.
Your stationery
will be delivered to you on a date requested by you,
usually the week prior to your wedding day. We would
recommend we deliver to you 3-4 days prior to your wedding
day to ensure there are no issues encountered with the
postal service. This also allows you time to hand out
the orders of service to the Best Man and arrange for
any of the wedding breakfast stationery to be taken to
the Venue prior to the day.
If you ordered thank
you cards these will also be delivered prior to your
wedding day (unless requested otherwise) so they are
ready for you to post out upon the return from your honeymoon!
